The 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix Convertible marked the final year that Pontiac offered its stylish full-size personal luxury car in open-air form. Just 5,856 Grand Prix Convertibles were produced for the year, giving it a special place in Pontiac history as both a luxurious cruiser and a performance-oriented offering. For 1967, the Grand Prix underwent a significant restyling, featuring a longer, lower body with pronounced Coke-bottle contours and a unique front-end that separated it visually from the Bonneville and Catalina. The signature stacked headlights, and a revised grille design gave the car a distinctive, confident presence. Unlike previous years where the Grand Prix was largely a trim package on the Catalina, the '67 stood apart more boldly in terms of exterior and interior treatments. Inside, the Grand Prix Convertible emphasized luxury with woodgrain trim, bucket seats, and a center console, offering drivers a blend of performance and comfort that was becoming increasingly popular in the late 1960s.

A labor of love, this 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix Convertible was the recipient of a truly impressive nut-and-bolt comprehensive restoration. Having long wanted to win a Best in Class and capture a first-place award at the Pontiac Nationals, the current owner looked all over the country before finding this pristine example. Acquired in 2017 from an East Coast Pontiac enthusiast, this Grand Prix became the current owner's pride and joy. Finished in its original and eye-catching Regimental Red over its original correct 585 code Parchment vinyl interior, the body panels, fit, and finish are all impressive. Ordered new with a host of options, as shown on the PHS documents, some of those items include power steering, power brakes, special custom ordered wheels, a push-button radio, and soft ray glass. Under the hood is a well-sorted and nicely presented 400-cubic-inch four-barrel V-8 engine that is paired with a Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.

Looking to capitalize on his investment, this 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix Convertible was entered in the 2019 Ames Performance Pontiac Nationals event where it was judged and scored an impressive 91 out of 100 points and took home a second in class award. Reviewing what few point reductions this GP received, he would return in 2021 to capture a first in class award, not once, but two more times in 2022 and 2024. Most importantly, this Pontiac won the Best in Class award for Best Grand Prix at the 2022 Pontiac nationals, a crowning achievement. Always stored in a climate-controlled setting and properly maintained, this Grand Prix is ready for continued show enjoyment. Accompanying the sale of this Pontiac Grand Prix Convertible is a large treasure trove of documentation that includes its PHS documents, a reproduction window sticker, judging sheets, boxes of invoice records, manuals, and books, a collection of trophies it has won throughout the years, a one-of-a-kind car embroidered jacket, and four large boxes that contain various spare parts.

As the final-year convertible of Pontiac's personal luxury flagship and a multiple award-winning, meticulously restored example, this Grand Prix represents the very best of 1960s American style and performance and would be a welcome addition to future shows and events.
