Since Mercedes-Benz produced their first car for public sale in 1901, a legacy has followed them for setting the standard in luxury and going above and beyond the competition. Mercedes-Benz hasn't looked back and has taken pride in that public image they've built and have gone on to produce key marque automobiles time after time. Mercedes-Benz launched their flagship 560SL at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1985 and the public was pleased with the showing. It was sold alongside the 500SL with minor external changes, improved front wheel suspension, new brakes, and a new 5.6-litre V-8 engine. The new 560SL was Mercedes-Benz's most powerful SL produced at the time and helped them push past the competition.
