The Model 43 was introduced in 1915 as a successor to the Model 42, and by 1921, it had undergone several refinements to enhance performance and comfort. The Model 43 was positioned as a mid-range offering within the Oldsmobile lineup, balancing affordability with quality engineering. It competed with vehicles from Dodge Brothers, Studebaker, and Chevrolet, offering a compelling mix of performance, durability, and comfort. It was powered by a four-cylinder, 224-cubic-inch engine producing around 40 horsepower, which was competitive for its time. The engine was paired with a three-speed manual transmission, which sent the power to the rear wheels. Although production of the Model 43 ended in 1923, it helped solidify Oldsmobile's reputation for crafting dependable automobiles. The lessons learned from this model influenced later Oldsmobile designs, leading to more advanced models in the late 1920s and beyond.

Under the Passport Collection's care since 2013, this 1921 Oldsmobile Model 43 Touring is in honest condition, and wears a yellow and black two-tone color scheme. The black fenders feature hand-painted yellow pinstriping from the front to the rear, while the yellow spoke wheels wrapped in whitewall tires accent the yellow body. Equipped to the rear is a spare tire. The interior features a newer black carpet and wood steering wheel, while the black bench seats show signs of patina and enjoyment. A familiar face at parades and used by the local high school for events and such, as it shared the same colors. The four-cylinder engine has received a handful of upgraded items such as an alternator, to help with its reliability.

Over 100 years old, this 1921 Oldsmobile Model 43 Touring with its fun and exciting colors would certainly be a nice addition to more parades, celebrations, or Saturday morning cars and coffee events.
