When people typically think of hot rods or custom builds, many imagine old, classic, or modern American cars that have been cut, chopped, and channeled to achieve higher speeds and a unique and personalized look. The bodies are almost always modified in some way, irreversibly altering the original stock look. Documented by a stack of photos when this Street Rod was pulled out of 30 years of hibernation, this '30 Plymouth has been undoubtedly dressed to please and maintains its original uncut factory steel body. At the base, the frame was built by Butch's Rod Shop in Dayton, Ohio, with a Fatman front end, and rear leaf springs that were rebuilt with Teflon liners between them with QA1 coil-over shocks to give it a smooth and comfortable ride. At the heart lies a fuel-injected 350-cubic-inch V-8 engine that is backed by a 700R4 automatic transmission that sends the power to the rear wheels and is engaged by a correct eight-inch Ford rear end with 3.55 gears. Letting everyone know this build means business, it is equipped with a stainless-steel exhaust, and the engine is equipped with polished headers.

As impressive as the mechanics are, the exterior and interior of this build bring it to the next level. A mix between PPG Hemi and Sunset Orange with subtle custom pinstriping throughout the body, the stance of this Street Rod catches attention wherever it goes. Elevating the memorable appearance, this Street Rod is fitted with chrome Rocket Racing wheels and front and rear chrome bumpers.

Open the shaved doors and the cabin greets you with a custom Ultrahide rolled and pleated tan interior that was done by Interiors by Ed. The dashboard features VDO gauges, a Pioneer Bluetooth stereo system, and an orange LED light bar that is tucked underneath and lights up the entire cabin when desired. Modern amenities can be found throughout, which include Vintage Air air-conditioning, power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, and power windows.

Documenting the build are photos from start to finish, as well as a large file of invoices and manuals. A proven touring vehicle and show winner, this Plymouth Street Rod was driven from Indiana to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and has garnered two World of Wheels awards. Ready for continued enjoyment on the road or at a show, this 1930 Plymouth Street Rod will make the perfect addition to one's garage as their go-to weekend cruiser.
