The Model A was Ford's second huge model success, after the Model T had been produced for an amazing 18 years. In late 1927 it was the Model A's turn, and by July of 1929, a remarkable two million had been sold. Production finally ended on the Model A in March of 1932, with over 4.8 million Model As sold, but an equally large impact of Ford's design might just be in the hot rod market, where even today, they are the foundation of the custom car industry.

The early 1930s Fords - the roadsters in particular - became the canvas for Americans to upgrade or "hot rod" an affordable car that was easy to work on and readily available. Big blocks, big cams, and big tires became the norm, and right through today, the Ford Model A can lay claim to being the framework of the classic American hot rod. Offered here is a 1931 Ford that epitomizes the fun you can have where the old-school look meets modern technology.

This classic open-air Roadster is finished in high-quality black paint with discreet gold pinstriping. It has a classic stance that looks great from every angle, especially when you can see the quality of the panel fit. Open hood, classic grille and headlamps, with headers and side pipes is a familiar recipe. Classic Cragar Super Sport wheels and radial tires are found on all four corners. Power comes from a newer Chevrolet 5.7L V-8 and a three-speed automatic transmission. As expected, it runs strong and sounds great. Stopping power comes from four-wheel power disc brakes. An HEI ignition system provides the spark and a Holley carb feeds gas and air to the eight cylinders. Coil over shocks smooth the ride and allow high-speed motoring in full control. It is a proven combination that makes hot rodding fun and easy for everyone.

You'll love the GM tilt steering wheel, Kenwood stereo system, and the supportive bucket seats. The dashboard, with vintage style round gauges is chrome with a custom steering wheel. You will enjoy having this roadster around for errands, car shows, and definitely all of the cruising nights. If the intersection of classic hot rod and modern performance is a spot you would like to visit, this Model A custom is certainly worth a close inspection.
