The 1962 Porsche 356B 1600 S was a refined evolution of Porsche's first production car, the 356. Introduced in 1960, the 356B featured sharper body lines, higher bumpers, and improved handling. The 1600 S (Super) variant boasted a 1.6-litre, air-cooled, flat-four engine producing 75 horsepower, offering spirited performance for its time. Built with lightweight construction and precision engineering, it became a favorite among driving enthusiasts. By 1962, the model had reached peak refinement before giving way to the 356C in 1964. Today, the 356B 1600 S remains a sought-after classic, celebrated for its design, reliability, and engaging driving experience.

Benefitting from a documented comprehensive restoration that took place in the 2010s, this is a wonderfully presented and desirable 1962 Porsche 356B 1600 S or "Super" Coupe. According to its accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this example was completed on May 22nd, 1962, and left the factory in its original and current livery of 6204 Ivory over a Code A red leatherette. Equipped with its matching stamped body numbered bonnet and deck lid, it has been thoughtfully and lovingly cared for, winning multiple concours awards throughout the years. Cherished for their aesthetics but praised for their performance, this 356B Super retains a mechanically fit and well-detailed 75-horsepower 1,600cc flat-four engine that is mated to a four-speed manual transaxle, a wonderful combination for spirited driving.

Accompanying this ivory Porsche is a large file folder that retains records from 1974 to present day, its Porsche COA, a tool kit, jack, and matching spare tire.

With unmistakable presentation, balanced performance, and comfort in the finest classic Porsche tradition, this 356B 1600 Super Coupe represents a great opportunity to acquire a top-notch tourer that stands ready to please any discerning marque enthusiast.
