This 1963 Chevrolet C10 Custom Truck is a standout model in the lineage of Chevrolet's C/K series, which was a line of full-size pickup trucks introduced in 1960. The C10 was part of Chevrolet's "C" series, which designated two-wheel-drive pickups, while "K" represented four-wheel-drive models. The 1963 model came in the midst of the first generation of C/K trucks, which were produced from 1960 to 1966. These trucks were revolutionary for their time, departing from the traditional heavy-duty designs of earlier pickups and embracing a more user-friendly and versatile approach.

The 1963 Chevrolet C10 Custom Truck is celebrated today for its classic design and adaptability. It represents a pivotal moment when American pickups transitioned from purely utilitarian vehicles to versatile machines capable of serving as both workhorses and personal transportation. Its timeless appeal has made it a favorite among collectors and enthusiasts, with many customizing and restoring these trucks to showcase their heritage.

Doing just that, this 1963 Chevrolet C10 Custom Truck was built with the intention of being a show truck that could still be enjoyed on the open roads. With just four owners from new, ownership history is known from the start. A Detroit, Michigan-based collector acquired this C-10 Custom Truck from the grandson of the original owner. The Great Outdoors Collection then purchased this example within the last few years, along with a handful of other cars from the same Michigan-based collection. Well-respected and admired at many of the local shows, some key features include a custom exhaust, a beautiful wood bed, and smooth red paint throughout the build. Open up the hood, and you will draw in a crowd as the Chevrolet straight-six engine has been dressed to impress with array of upgrades and parts.

Documented on an accompanying invoice from 2023 that totals $14,000, this C10 was upgraded with a front disc brake conversion and dual master cylinder for extra stopping power, electronic ignition conversion, a new carburetor, new fuel pump and fuel filter, and a new steering gearbox. The cabin is nice and tidy and presented with a comfortable faux black leather bench seat. A modern retro-looking stereo system can also be seen and heard in the cabin. Ready to show or drive, this C10 custom will be an eye catcher on road trips and shows in its near future.
