The 1964 Chevrolet Corvette marked the second year of the now-iconic C2 generation, known as the "Sting Ray." Following the revolutionary 1963 debut, the 1964 model refined and improved the formula, building on the bold styling and cutting-edge engineering that defined the new era of Corvette. While the overall design remained similar, subtle updates distinguished the '64. Most notably, the split rear window from 1963 was eliminated in favor of a single pane of glass, improving rear visibility and quieting critics.

Underneath the fiberglass body, the Corvette continued to showcase advanced features for the time, including four-wheel independent suspension, a rigid chassis, and optional fuel injection. The engine lineup ranged from a base 250-horsepower, 327-cubic-inch V-8 to a high-performance 375-horsepower fuel-injected variant, ensuring buyers could tailor the car to their driving tastes. Transmission options included a three-speed manual, four-speed manual, or a two-speed Powerglide automatic.

The 1964 Corvette combined raw American performance with European-inspired handling, capturing the attention of sports car enthusiasts across the country. The 1964 Corvette stands as a collectible model, admired for its blend of style, performance, and refinement. It represents a time when Chevrolet was pushing boundaries, solidifying the Corvette as America's sports car. Today, the '64 Corvette's legacy lives on in multiple fashions, one of which is among hot rodders and builders alike, as they have fallen in love with its style and versatile mechanicals, making them the perfect candidates to be upgraded to what is known in the hobby as a restomod.

This 1964 Corvette Restomod packs a serious punch, as it has been tastefully upgraded in all the right spots. Formerly of the noted Jerry Brewis Sports Car Collection, this example is a recipient of a two-year build completed in 2009 by His Place of Emmitsburg, Maryland. This restomod was built on a C5 tubular frame chassis and incorporates styling cues from a '67 Vette. Cloaked in a classic Corvette red color with a black stinger hood over a red interior, the body and paint still present very well, a true testament to the care this car has received throughout the years. Retaining its stock appearance, other than the upgraded, polished 10-spoke aluminum wheels wrapped in modern Nankang Sport NS-1 tires, it is a sleeper in the truest sense. Under the stinger hood, things are taken up a notch as the power plant has been swapped for a modern 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Combined with dual side exhaust, this Vette produces a memorable rumble and sound. With more power comes better braking, and this example has just that as it features advanced four-wheel independent suspension with larger sized four-wheel disc brakes and an industry leading Wilwood master cylinder. Interior features include a teak steering wheel, factory-correct tachometer, a clock, seat belts, black folding soft top, and a discreetly concealed upgraded Sony stereo system in the glove box. A recent thorough inspection and test drive showcased its outstanding operation and performance.

Retaining its classic looks and styling, but infused with an ideal blend of modern horsepower, drivability, and ride comfort, this '64 Corvette Restomod will give you the best of both worlds. It offers many more memorable excursions, whether a multi-day trip or a simple cruise-in.
