1967 Dodge Dart GT Convertible
Dodge made a huge styling change for 1967. The whole range was sharpened, with most rounded elements abandoned, and the '67 Dart was perhaps the smartest of the new models. The successful chassis remained the same, but the body was squared off with a bold fender line running from front to back and a single style crease gradually falling along the side to cut off the rear wheel arch. The rear panel repeated the same theme as the front, with large square tail lights.
The grille was recessed with vertical bars and the GT had a central badge, which was repeated on the front fenders. The same engines were used, and included a pair of slant-six engines, a 180-horsepower 273-cid V-8 engine and the high-performance "Charger" 235-horsepower engine that this car has. This is 1 of only 1,626 V-8 Dart convertibles produced for the 1967 model year, and one of only a handful equipped with the rare 235 horsepower variant. The date-code-correct E-Code performance engine features a 10:5.1 compression ratio, solid lifters, and special domed pistons. Part of the high-performance package included a chromed air cleaner and special black-crinkle finish valve covers. Additionally, this Dart has been fitted with an Edelbrock carburetor and long-tube exhaust headers for enhanced performance. A column-shifted automatic transmission delivers power to the the larger 8-3/4 rear with 3:23 gears . Under the hood is highly detailed and largely stock in appearance.
Finished handsomely in code QQ1 Dark Red Poly with a crisp white power-activated convertible top, this rare Mopar is simply stunning. A set of correct "Mag" style wheel covers adds to this Dart GT's sporty look. The interior features correct white upholstery with body-colored metal surfaces on the dash and doors that create a strikingly attractive look. Other amenities include factory bucket seats, a column shifter, and a factory AM radio. A tastefully under-dash mounted set of white-faced Sunpro gauges with chrome bezels and mounting plate monitor the engine's temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. This high-performance 1967 Dodge Dart GT convertible is a seldom-seen car that would be an ideal addition to any collection of high quality muscle cars.
