1967 Ferrari 330 GTC
Debuted at the March 1966 Geneva Motor Show, the Ferrari 330 GTC was a svelte, high-speed Grand Touring coupe for two with a luxurious and remarkably spacious passenger compartment. Pininfarina designed and built the subtly elegant bodywork of the 330 GTC to exceptional standards of quality at their Grugliasco production facility near Turin, with styling a masterful combination of the best elements of the 500 Superfast and 275 GTS. The light, airy roof utilized exceptionally thin pillars and offered remarkably good visibility; this feature was unique to the 330 GTC and continued with its 365 GTC successor. Slender quarter bumpers at all four corners, purposeful air extractors at the front fenders, and subtle "330" scripts rounded out the exterior appointments.
Outstanding power output was provided by the Colombo-derived Tipo 209 SOHC four-litre V-12 engine delivering 300 horsepower with triple Weber twin-choke carburetors. Sharing its basic chassis with Ferrari's 275, including its fully independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, a five-speed gearbox and rear transaxle, the 330 GTC delivered near perfect balance and excellent handling. Capable of accelerating from rest to 60 mph in less than seven seconds, enroute to quarter-mile times below 15 seconds and a top speed of 150 mph, the 330 GTC advanced and refined the classic Ferrari Grand Touring concept as never before. A mere 598 of these potent and handsome performers were built through 1968.
Enjoying the company of a limited roster of caretakers, this gorgeous GTC's history is well documented. Completed at Maranello in June of 1967, it was sent to the Milanese Ferrari dealer Gastone Crepaldi Autombili to be sold. According to the 2025 Massini Report, this 330 GTC was ordered new in Oro Chiaro Metallizzato paint over Nero Franzi leather with grey carpets. Options included metric instrumentation, Borrani wire wheels, power windows, and desirable air-conditioning.
This car, chassis number 10101, engine number 10101 along with body number 373 1 is a special example of the 598 built. It was first purchased by a local resident and member of the Sozzani family. In 1977, it was acquired by a prominent collector, Dr. Philip B. Buzzelli of Allison Park, Pennsylvania. Some of the remarkable cars to have been a part of Dr. Buzzelli's collection include the Ferrari Brussels and New York Auto Show 400 Superamerica Pininfarina Cabriolet, a 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso, and long-nose 275 GTB 6/C. After 20 years of care and ownership, Dr. Buzzelli sold 10101 in 1997 with a reported 43,450 kilometres, or 26,998 miles on the odometer. The next collector would retain this stunning and well-preserved Ferrari for an impressive 26 years before the Passport Collection became the new steward. At which time it had just 50,350 kilometres (31,300 miles), and the odometer shows just six miles added since acquired by the collection.
Well-detailed throughout, the Oro Chiaro Metallizzato paint was reapplied and appropriately highlights the curvaceous and smooth lines of this 330 GTC. According to previous ownership, a $30,000 mechanical servicing took place some 75 miles ago in 2019. This work entailed a new water pump, rebuild of the car's suspension system, the carburetors were adjusted, and a new clutch master cylinder was equipped. Other items addressed were the fitment of a new carpet kit, rear parcel shelf, seat covers, seat belts, while the air-conditioning system was entirely gone through and a set of new period-style tires were fitted.
Offered with a very limited roster of owners during its 56 years of life, this stunning 330 GTC, which is praised for its handling and drivability, would make quite a statement on vintage road rallies, show fields, and classic Ferrari events.
