Introduced in 1967 at the Paris Salon, the Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 became one of Ferrari's most refined vehicles to that date. Designed and constructed by none other than Battista Pininfarina, the 365 met the demands of the consumer looking for high-speed transportation that also accommodated up to four passengers comfortably. Along with its new fastback design, it became the first production model to be equipped with standard power steering, power brakes, and self-leveling independent rear suspension. Built for only four years, this particular 365 GT 2+2 was built during the second to last year of production and was one of only 809 in total to leave the factory.

Along with the new, standard power steering and power brakes, the 365 GT 2+2 came with the option of air-conditioning, which this example includes. Chassis number 12793 would be completed at the Maranello Ferrari factory in July of 1969, and left the factory finished in Grigio Ortello over a Nero interior. Noted by Marcel Massini as the 498th example built, it was equipped as a left-hand-drive car and destined for the U.S. market, with miles-per-hour instrumentation.

This 365 would be delivered new to a Ferrari dealer, William Harrah's Modern Classic Motors in Nevada, before being sold to its first owner who resided on the West Coast. Following which, ownership would then be obtained by Dr. C.R. Oliphant of San Diego in the 1970s. It is believed Dr. Oliphant cherished this Ferrari until 2016 when it was then sold to a Mr. Aryafar. Under the new owner's care, 12793 was professionally maintained by Mr. Patrick Soares, Ferrari mechanic and owner of Fiorano Motor Sports in Doral, Florida. Under his stewardship, the Weber carburetors were refurbished, serviced, and adjusted, the fluids were drained and replaced, and the hydraulic air shock absorbers were serviced.

Acquired by the Passport Collection four years ago, it is noted that this example will require a proper service and attention before its next roadgoing outing. Today, 12793's body wears a fitting Rosso Corsa Red over a black leather interior, which was presumably done in the mid-2010s. Its elegant look is furthered by its chrome Borrani wire wheels. Known for their road manners and as the ideal choice for touring events, this 365 GT retains its numbers-matching V-12 engine that is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, the perfect combination for a Sunday jaunt. Furthering its accolades for touring, the spacious cabin features optional air-conditioning for those hot summer days, power steering, power brakes, power windows and a classic Blaupunkt radio. Accompanying this Ferrari are various invoice records from Fiorano Motor Sports, a Massini Report, an owner's manual, and a 365 GT handbook.

The Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 proved to be the ultimate Gentleman's GT in the late '60s and early '70s. Still loved to this day because of its stylish looks and smooth performance, this one-of-only-809 Ferrari is an excellent opportunity to own a vehicle that carries the legendary prancing horse logo and Pininfarina nameplate.
