The previous Corvette body design was introduced with great fanfare in 1963. The C2 body design only lasted for five years before a total re-style ushered in the Corvette's 'Stingray' era with the 1968 models. In 1970, the Corvette's styling was slightly revised and featured redesigned side fender vents with a crosshatch grille-type cover. Refinements continued as the fenders were now flared to reduce stone chip damage. If you liked the 1970 model, then you loved the 1971 model. There were very few changes, mainly due to a strike which shortened the production run. Appearance changes were few for 1972, but significantly, it was the last of the true chrome bumper, front and rear, Corvettes. A bright egg-crate grille was introduced, side fender grilles were functional and this was the last Corvette that the rear window could be removed and stowed, thus making it a coupe.

This highly original 1972 Chevrolet Corvette was sourced by its current owner directly from the original owner. The nearly all-original Daytona Yellow paint shows signs of mellowing and patina as one would expect considering its 50+ year age. The original black interior features leather seats while the dash, console, door panels, and carpet are all in good condition. The original 350-cubic-inch engine and four-speed manual transmission operate smoothly, making it a pleasure to drive. The odometer reads approximately 54,600 miles and the car feels tight and solid like a low-mileage car should. There is an excellent recorded history documenting the mileage of this Corvette and the car is accompanied by all the original purchase paperwork, Protect-O-Plate, manuals, spare, jack and tire iron. If you appreciate an original car with great verifiable history, this Corvette presents a rare opportunity to acquire an excellent original example of "America's Sports Car".
