The BMW 3 Series was first introduced in 1975 as a replacement for the BMW 02 Series. The initial model, the E21, set the foundation for what would become BMW's signature compact executive car. The E21 was available in various body styles, including a two-door sedan and a two-door convertible. While the convertible version of the E21 was not as widely produced as the sedan, it laid the groundwork for BMW's future convertible offerings.

In 1982, BMW launched the second generation of the 3 Series, known as the E30. This generation marked a significant advancement in terms of design, performance, and technology. The E30 solidified BMW's reputation for the production sport and dynamic compact cars. It was available in several body styles, including a two-door sedan, a four-door sedan, and a two-door convertible.

The convertible variant of the E30, which included models like the 325i Convertible, became particularly popular among enthusiasts and those seeking a blend of open-top driving pleasure and BMW's renowned driving dynamics. The E30 Convertible featured a retractable soft top, which provided a seamless transition between open-air cruising and closed-top refinement. The 325i Convertible, introduced in 1987, was powered by a 2.5-litre inline-six engine, hence the 325i designation, which delivered spirited performance and a satisfying exhaust note. By 1989, the 325i Convertible had established itself as a benchmark in the luxury convertible segment, offering a perfect balance of performance, comfort, and style. It retained the timeless design cues of the E30 generation while incorporating modern features and technologies for the era.

A stylish example from 1989, this 325i Convertible is offered from a private collection and ready for spirited driving, thanks to its sporty 2.5-litre SOHC six-cylinder engine and four-speed automatic transmission. The body is finished in a classic red and features a new tan power convertible top. Matching the color of the top, the interior is lined in a fine tan leatherette upholstery that presents very well, as does the tan carpet. Other notable interior features include a BMW M Series steering wheel and new factory-spec heated bucket seats for those brisk chilly mornings.

Accompanying the sale of this 325i are its original factory manuals and booklets, a complete tool kit, both sets of keys, and most importantly, a clean CARFAX®. With under 65,000 original miles, and having been well-maintained in a private collection, this 1989 BMW 325i Convertible is the ideal choice for cruising along coastal highways with the top down, slicing through winding mountain roads, or simply driving to and from on one's daily commute.
