2005 Ferrari F430 Spider
Succeeding the 360 Modena and ushering in a new era of performance, technology, and design, the Ferrari F430 was just what Ferrari needed in the 2000s. While it retained the basic layout and proportions of the 360, the F430 introduced a more aggressive and purposeful exterior, shaped by wind tunnel development in collaboration with Pininfarina and Ferrari's Formula 1 team. Key aerodynamic elements like the front bumper's twin air intakes, reminiscent of the legendary Ferrari 156 F1, hinted at the car's motorsport DNA.
At the heart of the F430 was a brand-new 4.3-litre V-8 engine, replacing the long-standing Dino-derived V-8 used since the 1970s. Producing 483 horsepower and 343 lbs-ft of torque, the engine was a dramatic step forward, enabling the F430 to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. It wasn't just about straight-line speed, though. The F430 debuted Ferrari's E-Diff (electronic differential), which optimized traction and cornering performance, and the now-iconic "manettino" steering wheel dial, allowing drivers to quickly switch between driving modes for road and track conditions.
The F430 represented a turning point, because it blended raw performance with cutting-edge electronics and driver-focused technology, laying the groundwork for future models like the 458 Italia. It bridged the analog and digital eras of Ferrari road cars, offering a more modern, refined experience while still retaining the soul-stirring soundtrack and razor-sharp dynamics enthusiasts expected. Offered in both Berlinetta and Spider variants, with available F1-style paddle shift or traditional manual transmission, the F430 proved to be a sales success, redefining what a mid-engine Ferrari could be in the modern age.
Finished in Nero Daytona over a Cuoio leather cabin, this F430 was originally for sale in Europe before being imported to the U.S. in 2006 and being registered in Texas. It eventually made its way to Florida, then to Arizona, and back to its current Texas-based owner. Well-equipped, this F430 features a power-operated black convertible top, 19-inch alloy wheels, optional red brake calipers, Scuderia shields, and Fabspeed exhaust headers. Motivated by a 483-horsepower 4.3-litre DOHC V-8 engine paired with a paddle shift six-speed F1 sequential transaxle, it gives its driver a thrilling Formula 1-like driving experience.
The cockpit features bolstered bucket seats that place the occupants in the perfect position to experience the pure thrill of the Ferrari V-8 engine. Faced by a multi-function steering wheel with a manettino dial, the driver has the choice of multiple different driving and traction control settings. Other cabin features include automatic climate control, power windows, carbon fiber trim, and a Ferrari CD stereo.
Regularly serviced, this example is accompanied by a clean CARFAX®, a stack of invoice records, and shows less than 8,000 miles on the odometer. Included in the maintenance work is a 2020 replacement of the clutch pack, new clutch position sensor, a resurfaced flywheel, a brake fluid service, coolant exchange, an oil change, and replacing two oxygen sensors. Most recently in the summer of 2025, this example received a complete tuneup that also entailed servicing the fuel pump.
This F430 Spider delivers the kind of driving engagement that defines the Ferrari experience. With its lightning-quick paddle shifts, race-bred chassis, and open-air cockpit, it's the perfect car for those who want to feel every curve, every shift, and every heartbeat of a true 2000s exotic.
